Morning critters!

I wanted to check in this week and go over some of the progress we've made so far. First off, the meat pop plush is virtually finished! Because of some difficulties sourcing a purple zebra stripe fabric, I opted to go in a slightly different direction with this first version.



This is a pretty stark departure from the original color palette though, so I've also got a more similar one in the works now. We sourced the perfect fabric and I'm confident it's going to look both adorable and delicious!



Both options will be available via the preorder store, and anyone who added the meat pop plush to their survey via the campaign will receive the striped design most similar to the concept art by default (however you can edit this if you prefer the green one).

Gutsy and Moonlight Mothman are nearing completion as well! Unfortunately with Gutsy the bone applique I was hoping for isn't possible, but the way the belly marking is applied was changed slightly to look a bit cleaner and I'm still very happy with them overall. 

All they need is darker circles under their eyes, and they'll be finished!



Mothman is receiving a bit of a facelift to look as similar to the concept art as possible as well as a good fluffing, but I believe the next update will be a promising one.

In addition to these updates I just paid for all of the remaining prototypes (apart from the other moths), so progress pictures of everyone else should be trickling in very soon!

In case you don't follow me on twitter, I'd like to share this here as well. We hit an INCREDIBLE milestone last week. I knew we would hit the big 500k eventually but honestly wasn't expecting to be celebrating it so soon, so thank you all again for your love and enthusiasm! 💖 Your excitement is what keeps this project chugging along, and every extra dollar will be going into future prototypes and releases! 



Don't quote me on this but I think this also puts us in the top 5 most funded plushie projects ever-- how cool is that??

Finally I've been doing my best to respond to any support requests within 24 hours and so far I've been doing a good job of keeping up with everyone. If you reached out to me and haven't received a response yet, feel free to give me a poke here! Its likely your message was eaten or accidentally overlooked by me.

Surveys went life this afternoon, critters!

You should receive a notification via email, but if you don't you can also check on your survey and fill it out by logging into BackerKit and clicking on your icon in the upper right corner.

To address some of the most frequent questions I've received this afternoon, I've put together a little FAQ that you may find helpful!

Surveys will close shortly after the final prototype is revealed. I'm estimating this will be around April 2024, but regardless of the date I will be sure to announce it weeks in advance so folks have plenty of time to prepare.

Yes! You can edit your survey multiple times and will not be charged until surveys are locked around April 2024.

All charges will be processed when surveys close around April 2024.  I will announce the closure and charge date well weeks in advance both here and on all of my various social media accounts.
There is a chance that BackerKit releases a tool that will allow you to lock and charge your own order, but at this time that is not available. 

Addresses will not be locked until closer to the ship date (july-august) so you will have an opportunity to edit your address information before your plushies ship!

Below is a list of all the currently available Careweres! Grimshroud may also be called Deaths-head Mothman for some folks-- I'm not sure why that is, but it won't affect the accuracy of your survey in any way. 

You can also find this information in the preorder store, along with short biographies for each character. 

It's a little weird to go from posting every day to...not 😂 This part of the campaign can be a little boring, admittedly, but I like engaging with you guys so I think it's worth asking: do you prefer smaller, frequent updates or meatier ones spaced further apart? 

The update today is a fairly small one. Discussing the meat pop with my manu now and purple striped faux fur is NOT an easy find apparently. I've sent some alternatives since the vibe is more important to me than exact colors and patterns.



I've also updated all the moths to the new, fluffier base!



I hope to start sketching the character art for the new designs and have something to share next week. That remains as one of the biggest hurdles apart from prototyping itself, but I'm sure once I'm in the zone it will fly by just like everything else has!

Last but not least I want to remind everybody that surveys will be released sometime shortly after the 19th. For folks wondering what's taking so long-- funds are still processing and backers have not yet been imported into the pledge manager (this is normal) so there's little I can do on my end.

I know the wait stinks, but we're in this one for the long haul fellas so strap in and trust the process! 💖
